Today, We Turned 6

birthday-books“Now We Are Six” By A.A. Milne

When I was one,
I had just begun.
When I was two,
I was nearly new.
When I was three,
I was hardly me.
When I was four,
I was not much more.
When I was five,
I was just alive.
But now I am six,
I’m as clever as clever.
So I think I’ll be six
now and forever.

I still have a hard time coming to terms that I have been with this blog for 6 years, and it has been my longest thing I have kept up with in my life. I have had this blog longer than any job I’ve had, longer than any relationship with any man, longer than any place I have lived in my adult life, and longer than I would have even thought I would still be doing this. Even though there have been periods of doubt, struggle and the possibility to deleting this thing, I kept it in the end and it has helped me keep my sanity. When my world got crazy and the uncertain was looming over my head, I still had this blog to come to; to write and reflect on something I love the most. Six years later I sit on my coach, basking in the California morning sun, drinking my coffee and reflecting on all the things I have done and see since starting this thing back in London. From all the lovely authors I have met, emailed with and built a relationship with, to all the places I am visited to gotten to explore their book stores and wandered their isles, and of course to the sheer amount of books I have read, I would have never dreamt it would ever get this far. There have been so many books! Thanks to this blog, I have stretched my bookish horizons and read things I would have never picked up on a book store, and actually tried out genres of books I would never be caught dead with. Who knew I would love Fantasy so much?!?!

I also have to say that I have loved every person I have come into contact with through this blog; from the authors, PR managers, publishing house agents, follow book lovers, and of course every single one of you, my followers. I am beyond thankful for each and every one of you who come to this blog and read what I write, even if some of it is just me venting and rambling on about books. Thank you for being with me on this journey, and coming along beside me as we explore books together! I wouldn’t be anywhere without you!

Here’s to another year of reviews, ramblings, and reflections! 2017 shows a great deal of promise for this blog and for all the books being published! I am excited to see what this year will bring!

Happy Birthday A Comfy Chair, you have saved me in more ways than one and you help me keep my sanity! Happy Birthday!

Happy Reading!
