Hello!!!
It’s Wednesday, and I am back with a little peek of what I am reading, have read and what I am thinking about reading next. it has been a crazy week for me with my church moving into our new building (It only took us 9 years, so it is kind of big deal) and my team is working extra hard on getting our new lighting system up and running! I am so excited about this next chapter for us and all that is going to happen in my church family. Also I just realized that it is going to be September next week, what the what?!?! Where did the year go? Where did summer go? I feel like time is just flying by, and I know September is going to be a crazy month with school starting, work, church and my vacation! Am I the only one who actually prefers to go traveling in September-December instead of during the Spring and Summer like most people? Maybe. Oh well, Autumn is my favorite season and I am so excited for my vacation!
Ok, enough chatter.. Onto the books!
Just Finished:
Suddenly Mrs. Darcy by Jenetta James (Fiction) Really entertaining twist on a classic. Review to come!
Remember Mia by Alexandra Burt (Fiction, Thriller) Estelle wakes up in the hospital and discovers that she is missing an ear, her memory and her daughter. She must recover the memory that is lost in order to find her lost baby girl. This book was awesome!!! I do not get to read a lot of thriller books but this one was really good! It dragged for a chapter or two right in the middle of the novel (super annoying), but immediately picked back up. However.. I saw how the book was going to end, which is a first since I never see how it is going to end. Not sure if I should be happy or a little sad that this has happened. Diffidently worth picking up and reading!
Everything Leads to You by Nina Lacour (Fiction, LGBTQ, YA) My first LGBTQ novel, which happened also be a YA novel as well. Really liked it, a little weird at first but overall a decent experience. Review to come in combined YA book review. It is going to have 4-6 books in it so be on the look out for that! Remember Mia
Currently Reading:
The Good Shufu by Tracy Slater (Nonfiction, Memoir) Still chugging along with this one. About half way through, and it is just beautiful! Loving this memoir so far!
Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman (Fiction, Fantasy, YA) A really long book, and packed full of excitement. There is 4 plot lines going at the same time so trying to keep up with all the characters.
TBR:
The Heart Goes Last by Margaret Atwood (Fiction, Contemporary) I loved The Handmaiden’s Tale so I was very excited to read another Atwood nvoel. Her books are always on point with modern cultures and trends.
Behind the Shattered Glass by Tasha Alexander (Fiction, Historical, Mystery) I am obsessed with Tasha Alexander’s Lady Emily mystery novels. I already have a ton of other books I need to read and review but I couldn’t help myself from picking up another one of her books. I have a problem.
That is it for this week! Hope you liked what I am reading and are excited about the reviews to come! Let me know in the comments below if you have read any of these, your thoughts on these books, and tell me what you are currently reading yourself.
Hope you have a fantastic week!
Happy Reading!
