It would appear that I have gone a little blog happy this week, considering this is my third post in one week. However, so much has happened and so many books are being read that I can’t help but share them with you all! But this post a little different then the others in that I would like to share what I received in my Book Riot subscription box this month. I have done beauty boxes, like Birchbox, before but this is my first time with Book Riot and I was thrilled when it showed up on my doorstep. From the picture above here are the contents of this month’s box:
- The Word Exchange by Alena Graedon
- Smarter than you Think by Clive Thompson
- Grid-It Organizer
- Pop Chart Lab Literary Genres Map
- A letter from Book Riot
- Various pamphlets of things coming up at Book Riot
I have to admit, the box is super cool! But I am a little skeptical of the price of the items, a quarterly Book Riot box costs $50. Ouch… but it only comes 3-4 times a year so you are not spending $50 every month for it. I think I am going to give it another try for September then will decide if I am going to keep it or not. If you do not know what Book Riot is then allow me to explain. It is a website/blog that focuses on books! They have various articles, podcasts and events that focus on what is going on in the book industry. I really love their podcast that looks at all the new books that are coming out each week, and their favorites you should pick up. It’s interesting to see what book preferences everyone has and what they are currently reading. Maybe I will do a post on my favorite book websites in the near future, let me know if you would be interested in seeing that!
Anyways, I come to the point on the post that makes me the most nervous. I did something last night, and I am a little nervous about telling you all but here it goes… I posted my first Booktube video! I know.. it is so not like me to put myself in front of a camera and just talk about books and what not. I filmed, edited and posted without telling anyone about it! I totally pulled a Beyonce and it feels awesome! Please be aware dear reader, that this will not take away from the blog. It is just an addition that I will do maybe twice a month, just for fun. I will most likely just video my Unboxing posts and TBR/Haul posts as well, since those seem kind of boring in a blog post format. So below in the link to my channel/video, I hope you like it and I am looking for feedback on what I should film and how the video is.
Have a great weekend! Happy Reading!
